9/25/2021 | Household Hazardous Waste Mobile Collection Event - Richmond

Richmond is partnering with Excelsior Springs and Lawson to hold a mobile collection event for household hazardous waste on September 25. The event takes place from 8 a.m. to noon in the Richmond City Hall parking lot (205 Summit Street). The collection event is open to members of participating communities. 9/25/2021 | Recycling Extravaganza - Fall Event - Overland Park

The Overland Park Recycling Extravaganza returns on Saturday, September 25! This event offers an opportunity to recycle numerous materials including electronics, building materials, mattresses, musical instruments and furniture. Check out the full list of items accepted on the city's website and please note that there are fees to recycle TVs, computer monitors and mattresses/box spring. The event will be held at Black & Veatch (11401 Lamar Avenue). Hours: 8 am to 2 pm.

9/25/2021 | Community Paper Shredding & Electronics Recycling Event

If you live in northeast Johnson County and have paper that needs shredding or electronics that need recycling, this is the event for you. Participating communities are: Fairway, Mission, Mission Hills, Mission Woods, Roeland Park, Westwood, & Westwood Hills. Proof of residency will be required to participate (i.e.: Driver’s License, Utility Bill). The event will be held September 25, 9 am to noon, 4350 Shawnee Mission Parkway. More information is available here. No items from businesses will be accepted. Fees apply to recycle CRT monitors and TVs.

10/02/2021 | Electronics Recycling Event - Parkville

Parkville will host an electronics recycling event on Saturday, October 2 (9 a.m. to noon) in Platte Landing Park. Open to everyone! Essentially anything with a cord or battery (working or not) is collected. Most items are recycled for free, with some exceptions. More information on items accepted and applicable fees (cash only) is available on the Liquid Tech KC website.

10/02/2021 | Household Hazardous Waste Collection Event - Jackson County/Grain Valley

Jackson County and Grain Valley will jointly host a collection event for household hazardous waste on October 2. The event will be held at the Jackson County Public Works facility located at 34900 E. Old U.S. 40 Highway. The event takes place from 8 a.m. to noon and is open to members of participating communities. The schedule for remaining events can be found here.

10/02/2021 | Shredding Event - Kansas City

Stop by and shred your personal documents for free at the Central Bank of the Midwest. The event will be held on Saturday, October 2 from 9:00 am to noon at the Shoal Creek Branch (9200 NE Barry Road, Kansas City, MO 64157). KCMO is hosting an electronics recycling event on Saturday, October 2 from 8 a.m. to noon or until the truck is full. The event will be held at the Ruskin High School parking lot (7000 E 111th St.). MRC will collect essentially anything with a cord or battery (working or not) during the event. This is a great opportunity to get rid of small appliances, printers, cell phones, or other electronic items for free. There are fees for CRT based items (such as CRT TVs and CRT Monitors) and devices containing Freon (such as air conditioners, refrigerators, and dehumidifiers). 10/09/2021 | Recycling Event - Shawnee and Merriam

The Cities of Merriam and Shawnee are once again collaborating on a community-wide recycling event on October 9 from 8-11 am in the Nations Holding Parking Lot (9001 W. 67th St., Merriam 66202). This event will provide an opportunity for residents to drop off a variety of items including consumer electronics, bicycles, latex paint, and old documents that will be securely and professionally disposed. Jeans and eyeglasses will also be collected. Most items will be recycled for free, but there will be a charge to recycle televisions and computer monitors. Donations are requested for document shredding, a portion of which will benefit the Merriam Parks, Recreation, and Community Center Foundation and the Shawnee Mayor’s Christmas Tree Fund. Bicycles brought to the event will be refurbished and redistributed to various community organizations by the City of Shawnee. This event is open to Shawnee and Merriam residents only. Kansas City, MO is hosting an electronics recycling event on Saturday, October 23 from 8 a.m. to noon or until the truck is full. The event will be held at the Center Alternative School (8434 The Paseo). MRC will collect essentially anything with a cord or battery (working or not) during the event. This is a great opportunity to get rid of small appliances, printers, cell phones, or other electronic items for free. 11/13/2021 | Household Hazardous Waste Collection Event - Kearney

A collection event for household hazardous waste will be held on November 13 in Kearney. The event takes place from 8 a.m. to noon. The event will be held at Mack Porter Park located at 1001 N. MO Highway 33. The collection event is open to members of participating communities.
