Join StoneLion Puppet Theatre in our environmental teaching garden on Sunday, April 18, 2 – 4:30 p.m., for a free puppet show, environmental talk, hands-on art activities, games and community art projects focused on teaching the importance of clean water in a safe and socially distance manner. This event will have a limited number of socially distanced spots for a family/friend pod of up to six individuals. Reservations are required. Join StoneLion Puppet Theatre, Mpala Research Center in Kenya and Project Central for a party for the planet with a global outreach. The party will be held April 22, 10 a.m., CST and again April 24, 10 a.m., CST. Hannah is the star of the book “Helpful Hannah Hippo” written and illustrated by Dr. Dino j. Martins of the Mpala Research Centre.  The book demonstrates the rewards of working together and how each of our talents is needed to support each other.      - Town Fork Greenway. Check in location: Town Fork Greenway Park at 57th & Agnes.
     - Kessler Park. Check in location: Colonnade and Indian Mound Overlook. 
KCMO Parks and Recreation will provide bags, but volunteers should bring their own gloves if they can. For those who don't have supplies, a limited number of gloves and trash pickers will be available at each location. Please practice safe distancing and wear a mask. Capitol Federal is hosting a community shred day for you to have your documents securely shredded. This event will be held at Iron Mountain located at 15400 W. 99th Street in Lenexa, KS (66219) from 10 a.m. to noon. It’s a great opportunity to shred bank statements, old tax returns, and documents with personal identifying information, such as name and date of birth or Social Security Number. Shredding at this event is limited to a maximum of two paper/plastic grocery bags or two copy-paper-sized boxes. Bank of Prairie Village (3515 W 75th St, Prairie Village, KS 66208) will be hosting a free community shred event in the parking lot on Saturday, May 8th from 9:00 AM to noon. Neighbors are welcome to bring a maximum of two large bags or two copy paper-size cardboard boxes of paper items to be securely shredded (no binders or electronics).
