The HHW is open to Wyandotte County Residents at no charge. Proof of residency is required, so bring something with your name and address on it (driver's license, BPU bill, etc.).
Accepted items include auto batteries, used motor oil, brake fluid, degreasers, gasoline, furniture stripper, latex & oil-based paints, paint thinner, roofing tar, aerosol products, drain & oven cleaners, mothballs, nail polish remover, propane cylinders, and more.
Liberty and Clay County will jointly host a collection event for household hazardous waste. Mobile collection events are a convenient way to dispose of household hazardous waste in a safe and responsible manner.
Parkville will host an electronics recycling event on Saturday, April 1 (9 a.m. to noon). Open to everyone! Essentially anything with a cord or battery (working or not) is collected. Most items are recycled for free, with some exceptions.
Recycle your electronics (computers, TVs, phones, rechargeable batteries, stereos, etc.) and small appliances (microwaves, toasters, etc.) at this event. Documents for shredding will also be accepted for a suggested donation of $5 per box.
