was developed by the Solid
Waste Management District and
the Mid-America Regional Council. It is
funded partially by grants from the Missouri Department of Natural Resources.
Where does the information come from?
Information in RecycleSpot.org is collected and maintained by the MARC Solid Waste Management District staff.
Services included are for the eight-county area that MARC serves in the Kansas City region. Data is for communities with a population of 500 or greater.
This Web site contains information for hundreds of service providers, businesses and communities, so it is suggested you verify information with the appropriate business or organization via phone or e-mail. If you find possible inaccuracies with data on this site, please call 816/474-TEAM or e-mail recycle@marc.org.
How to use the RecycleSpot
- Select the "I am a..." option that best fits you or your organization. The contractor/designer designation is primarily for construction and demolition materials.
- Search by:
- Material - If you have specific items you want to recycle, this option will take you to a list of categories and subcategories of materials that can be recycled in our region. You can select multiple items by checking the boxes next to the subcategories and clicking submit. The resulting page displays a list of all service providers in the region. Click a service provider's name for a page that details all information about the service provider including contact information, fees and materials collected.
- Address - This feature is still in production. It will allow you to search for facilities and services within a designated radius of an address. An interactive map will display the service providers for your selected materials.
- City/County - This option provides a list of recycling and solid waste services sorted by each city and county in the MARC region for which information is available. The resulting page contains a comprehensive list of city services, trash haulers, recycling centers and household hazardous waste collection options. Click a service provider's name for a page that details all information about the service provider including contact information, fees and materials collected.
