6/01/2019 | Household Hazardous Waste Collection Event - Harrisonville

Harrisonville will host a mobile collection event for household hazardous waste on June 1. The event will be held at the Streets Department located at 1403 S. Independence. The event takes place from 8 a.m. to noon and is open to members of participating communities. The schedule for remaining events can be found here.

6/01/2019 | Shredding Event - Capitol Federal Savings Bank

Capitol Federal will be hosting a community shredding event on Saturday, June 1 from 10:00 am to noon. The event will be held at Iron Mountain located at 15400 W. 99th Street in Lenexa, KS (66219). Shredding at this event is limited to a maximum of two paper/plastic grocery bags or two copy-paper-sized boxes. More information is available on the Capitol Federal website.

6/01/2019 | Electronics Recycling Event - Parkville

The city of Parkville is holding an electronics recycling event at Platte Landing Park (8880 Clark Avenue) on Saturday, June 1 from 9 a.m. to noon or until the truck is full. There is no residency requirement. MRC will collect essentially anything with a cord or battery (working or not) during the event. This is a great opportunity to get rid of appliances, printers, cell phones, or other electronic items for free. There is a charge for CRT based items (such as CRT TVs and CRT Monitors). 6/15/2019 | Household Hazardous Waste Collection Event - Liberty

Liberty will host a mobile collection event for household hazardous waste on June 15. The event will be held in the parking lot of Liberty School Services located at 801 Kent Street. The event will be held from 8 a.m. to noon and is open to members of participating communities. The schedule for remaining events can be found here.

6/29/2019 | Pesticide Collection Event

The Missouri Department of Natural Resources will be hosting pesticide collection events for farmers and households throughout the state of Missouri to properly dispose of unwanted waste pesticides. The closest event will be held on June 29 in Carrollton from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The event will be held at the Carrollton City Hall (parking lot behind) 206 W. Washington Ave., Carrollton, MO 64633. This event is a free opportunity to properly dispose of pesticides, herbicides, rodenticides and fungicides. Pesticides will not be accepted from businesses, production facilities, distributors or retailers. Additional information regarding the event, materials accepted and recommended safety precautions are available on MDNR’s Pesticide Collection Program website.

New this year! The city of Grandview will host a collection event for household hazardous waste on August 3. The event will be held at the City Maintenance Facility (7000 E. 139th Street). Platte County, Platte City and Weston will jointly host a mobile collection event for household hazardous waste on August 17. The event will be held at Platte Ridge Park (17130 Mo. 9/07/2019 | Household Hazardous Waste Collection Event - Raymore/Belton

Raymore and Belton will jointly host a mobile collection event for household hazardous waste on September 7. The event will be held in the parking lot of the Eagle Glen Elementary School located at 100S. Foxridge Drive in Raymore. 9/21/2019 | Household Hazardous Waste Collection Event - Smithville

A collection event for household hazardous waste will be held on September 21 in Smithville. The event takes place from 8 a.m. to noon at Smithville High School (645 S. Commercial). The event is open to members of participating communities. The schedule for remaining events can be found here.

9/23/2019 | Missouri Recycling Association Conference

Join the Missouri Recycling Association at its annual recycling conference. The conference will be held September 23-25 at the Sheraton Westport Chalet Hotel located in St. Louis. More information is available here.

Jackson County and Grain Valley will jointly host a collection event for household hazardous waste on October 5. The event will be held at the Jackson County Public Works facility located on Old 40 Highway. The event takes place from 8 a.m. to noon and is open to members of participating communities. 10/19/2019 | Electronics Recycling Event - Harrisonville

The Cass County Sustainability Committee and Meredith Recycling will hold an electronics recycling event on October 19 at the Family Center in Harrisonville (2601 Cantrell Road). The event will be held from 8 a.m. to noon. Items accepted include: computers, keyboards, printers, laptops, tablets, cellphones, telephones, LCD/plasma TVs, cassette players, DVD players, CD players and VCRs. Fees will be charged for CRT monitors and TVs. Items not accepted include: CDs, floppy disks, flash drives and VCR tapes. More information is available here.

10/19/2019 | Electronics Collection Event - Independence

The 1st MidAmerica Credit Union is hosting an electronics collection event on Saturday, October 19, from 9:00 am to noon at 19301 East Valley View Parkway in Independence. Most items are free, but there are fees for CRT monitors/TVs, LCD/LED TVs, console or rear projection TVs and Freon containing appliances. Full list of fees is available here.

10/26/2019 | Household Hazardous Waste Collection Event - Kearney

A collection event for household hazardous waste will be held on October 26 in Kearney. The event takes place from 8 a.m. to noon. The event will be held at a new location this year. Join us at Mack Porter Park located at 1001 N. MO Highway 33. The collection event is open to members of participating communities.
