4/29/2017 | Recycle FEST - Lee's Summit

Recycle FEST will be held on April 29 from 9 a.m. to noon at the City Hall parking lot (220 SE Green Street). Clean out those cabinets or garages and recycle items such as license plates, wine corks, prescription pill bottles, crayons, tennis balls and more! 4/29/2017 | National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day

It's a great time to clean out your medicine cabinet! The Drug Enforcement Agency is coordinating a nationwide drug "take-back" day on Saturday, April 29 from 10 am to 2 pm. This one-day event is free and is a great way to get rid of your unwanted and expired medicines.  Find an event near you on the DEA website.

5/06/2017 | Earth Day Event – Annual Native Plant Sale

Missouri Prairie Foundation will hold a native plant sale on Saturday, May 6 at the Anita B. Gorman Conservation Discovery Center (4750 Troost Ave, Kansas City, MO) from 9:30 a.m. till 2:00 p.m. or sell out. A variety of native wildflowers, sedges, grasses, trees and shrubs suitable for shade, partial shade, sun, dry or moist conditions will be available. This is a great opportunity to buy native plants that will look great in your home landscape and will provide essential habitat for native pollinators and birds. Many species of plants—both host and nectar plants—for pollinators, including monarch butterflies will be available. More information is available here.

Platte County, Platte City and Weston will jointly host a mobile collection event for household hazardous waste on August 19. The event will be held at Platte Ridge Park (17130 Mo. Belton and Raymore will jointly host a mobile collection event for household hazardous waste on September 9. The event will be held in the parking lot of Eagle Glen Intermediate School located at 100 S. Foxridge Road in Raymore. Liberty will host a mobile collection event for household hazardous waste on October 28. The event will be held in the parking lot of Liberty School Services located at 801 Kent Street. The event will be held from 8 a.m. to noon and is open to members of participating communities. This will be the final mobile collection event for 2017.
