4/15/2017 | Recycling Event - Shawnee and Merriam

The City of Shawnee is once again partnering with the City of Merriam to bring you a fantastic recycling opportunity just in time for spring cleaning! The event will be held on April 15, 2017 in the Lee Jean's parking lot (9001 W. 67th Street in Merriam). The event will include electronics recycling, document shredding, a bike collection, and a latex paint collection event. More information about what will and won't be accepted, along with details about fees and suggested donations for different items, is available on the city of Shawnee website. Event hours are 8 a.m.  to 11 a.m. This event is open to Shawnee and Merriam residents only.

4/22/2017 | Recycling Extravaganza - Overland Park

Is it time to let go of some stuff? Overland Park will host a Recycling Extravaganza on Saturday, April 22—where you can recycle more materials than ever before! Bring your confidential documents (for shredding); usable building materials; clothing, housewares, small appliances, toys and other items; electronics ($20 for CRT monitors and TVs); bicycles; fluorescent bulbs (up to 10 per vehicle); fabric and notions; garden tools; gently used shoes; mattresses, box springs and bedding;  and pet supplies. The event will run from 8 am to 2 pm at the Black & Veatch parking lot located at 11401 Lamar Avenue. More information on the city’s website.
